Super Smash Bros. Melee is a crossover fighting game for Nintendo Gamecube. Although not considered to be in the Kirby canon, the series is influenced by the Kirby series alot. Only Kirby is playable, as he was in the orginal. It had three Kirby-related stages, Fountain of Dreams, Green Greens, and Dream Land (returning from Smash 64) In the game Kirby can inhale characters with button B and then use their attack with button B instead of the normal inhale. A few examples are:
- Mario- Kirby dons a Mario hat and uses his fireball attack.
- Ness- Kirby wears Ness's hat and can use his "PK Flash" ability
- Mewtwo- Kirby grows a tail and Mewtwo-style ears and uses his charge-up psychic ball attack.
